Purchasing. To purchase card(s), send an Email with the cards you would like. I will send you an invoice with the total including shipping and/or insurance. For cards that are FREE, just send a SASE envelope.
Trading. As far as trading, I am interested in vintage cards only. I like to collect boxing cards (especially 1948 Leaf and 1951 Topps Ringside issues), vintage football (especially old Los Angeles Rams and star cards), vintage basketball cards (especially Pete Maravich, Jerry West, Dr. J, etc., Los Angeles Lakers stars, etc.). I like a saying by an old friend and trader Max Keddy- "I never met a card I didn't like." I feel the same. Send me your (reasonable offers only; unreasonable offers will be ignored) trade offers; vintage ONLY! In other words, no newer crap.
Shipping & other details. Shipping is generally $3 for ungraded cards and $4 for graded cards. I offer shipping discounts for multiple purchases. Cards will be sent in a bubble mailer through USPS. Once I have received payment you will receive Delivery Confirmation along with a tracking number. I offer a 7-day return policy on all cards, including graded cards. I accept Bank checks, Money Orders, & Paypal. Personal checks are accepted for most cards (please allow time for check to clear; 7-10 days for out-of-state checks). However for higher dollar cards I will only accept Bank Checks, Money Orders, or Paypal w/ confirmed delivery address.
Pricing. Prices are mainly from PSA's Sports Market Report (SMR) for graded cards and the annual Sports Collector's Digest Standard Catalog Of Baseball Cards for ungraded cards. Keep in mind that price guides are just that- GUIDES, and some cards because of demand, eye appeal, centering, etc. may be higher or lower than listed prices. I will also accept reasonable offers on some cards.
Grading. I use the standard grading scales used by most reputable hobby publications.
This page is currently under major renovation! I will be updating cards and prices! If you see something that interests you, please send me an email (nowbatting19@yahoo.com) and I will get back to you on a price! Inventory is current as of 10-31-11.

ISSUE YEAR CARD# NAME NOTES COND. GRADED PRICE
1974 Topps 250 Wilt Chamberlain GAI 5 EX
There were not many Wilt Chamberlain cards issued during his playing career. Fleer issued the first card of
Wilt in 1961 but that was the only major Fleer issue. Topps issued a rare Test Basketball card of Chamberlain
but these are super rare. But from 1969-1974, Topps did issue a Wilt Chamberlain gum card every year.
Thankfully these are not terribly expensive. This is Wilt's last card, depicting him in his Lakers uniform (slightly
airbrushed by Topps) but listing him as "Coach/Center" for the San Diego Conquistadors of the ABA. Terrific
card and very undervalued!
1969 Topps #25 Johnny Unitas PSA 3 VG
I remember as a kid the name of Johnny Unitas. He was considered "The Greatest Quarterback Ever."
Granted, a lot of QB's have since broken his passing records, but you can still argue that Johny "U" was one
of the best. He didn't have all the high tech crap they use today and back then those guys played a tougher
game. This is a terrific card of Johnny Unitas, the year the Colts were beaten by "Broadway Joe" and the New
York Jets in the Super Bowl. Unitas did not start the game due to an injury but he came back and still
managed to toss a TD pass in a losing cause. Sadly Unitas passed away a few years ago. But we still have
these terrific picture cards to remind us of the great number 19!
1948 Leaf Knock Out Gum Complete PSA Graded Set (4.47 GPA) (Inquire for price)
Here are some cards from a 1948 Leaf Knock Out Gum complete PSA graded set (49 cards) I have. Boxing cards, like baseball cards, got their start as premiums in tobacco products. So there are vintage boxing
cards of boxing legends like John Sullivan, Jim Corbett, Jack Johnson and many more. Jack Dempsey, "The Manassa Mauler" changed boxing into a National Pastime. With the growth of boxing came the growth of
gum cards. Cards of boxers appeared in 1930's sets like the 1933 Goudey "Sport Kings" and in 1948 Leaf Gum produced a (49) card set that featured strictly prize fighters. Called "Knock Out Gum" these cards
featured both current and past boxing champions from all divisions. The set starts off with card number 1 Jack Dempsey and includes heavy hitters like Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, Ray Robinson, Jake LaMotta and
many more. The set is considered "complete" at 49 cards, however there was supposed to be 50. Leaf began producing a card of Rocky Graziano but the card was quickly pulled from production. No one knows for
certain why but it is probably because of contractual problems. Interestingly, Graziano did not appear in the 1951 Topps Ringside set either. The 1948 Leaf Rocky Graziano is today considered a true hobby rarity and
is extremely expensive if you can even find one.

1969 Topps #25 Lew Alcindor RC SGC 60 EX $150
One of the most important basketball cards EVER. The 1969 Topps #25 Lew Alcindor is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's rookie card. The All-Time Leading scorer in NBA history, Kareem won Championships wherever he
played: UCLA, Milwaukee and back to Los Angeles (Lakers). His patented "Sky hook" was unstoppable and it is doubtful anyone will ever break his scoring records. And how cool is this, he appeared in a Kung Fu movie
with Bruce Lee ("Game Of Death") in the early 1970's. In an epic battle, Bruce Lee takes on Kareem and ends up breaking Kareem's neck! Of course many got their asses whooped by Master Bruce Lee, including Chuck
Norris (Pussy). There is no shame in that. Back to the cards. The 1969 Topps basketball set was it's first major effort since 1957. Basketball (Football and Hockey as well) was just not as popular as it is today. Baseball
was considered "America's Pastime" and everything else took second fiddle. In fact, while Topps did go on to produce yearly basketball sets from 1969 to 1981, they just were not that popular. So Topps discontinued it's
basketball cards after 1981 but returned again in 1991-92. 1970's -1980's Topps Basketball cards continue to be a bargain today. This 1969 Topps #25 Lew Alcindor is the most expensive Topps card from 1969 to 1981
and lists for $150 in graded "EX" condition. That is super cheap in my opinion!

1974 Topps #150 John Unitas SGC 60 EX
Vintage sports cards can be expensive, but for some reason 1970's cards are still very affordable. You can pick up Hall of Famers and stars from this era for just a few bucks (or less!). Of
course the exceptions are rookie cards, short prints, high numbers, etc., but for collectors there is a bounty of great cards out there of your favorite players. I picked up this 1974 Topps
#150 John Unitas on eBay (graded SGC 60 EX) for something like five bucks. It cost more than $5 to have a card professionally graded even! Hey the card is not perfect, but Johnny U's
hair is, and so is the price! Other affordable football stars from the 70's include Terry Bradshaw, Dick Butkus, Larry Csonka, Tony Dorsett, Dan Fouts, Roman Gabriel, Bob Griese, Joe
Namath, Walter Payton, John Riggins, Gale Sayers, OJ Simpson, Ken Stabler (should be a HOFer!), Roger Staubach, Lynn Swann, Paul Warfield and so much more!
1962 Topps #28 Jimmy Brown SGC 50 VG/EX

feel free to make an offer (reasonable) on any listed cards.

1973-74 Topps #100 Jerry West PSA 6 EX-MT
As mentioned earlier, vintage 1970's cards are a real bargain. You can pick up Hall of Famers and stars for cheap! Of course high graded examples (by reputable professional grading services) and key rookie
cards (Erving, Maravich rookie cards, etc.) will always be in demand (hence, expensive). But there are plenty of ungraded and "collector grade" cards out there that are real treasures. You can buy a nice
mid-grade Jerry West card from his playing days for around $15. Same with Pete Maravich, Julius Erving, Bill Walton, Rick Barry, Moses Malone, and so much more. Some dealers and "know-it-alls" will tell you
that cards that aren't graded PSA MINT or PSA GEM MINT 10 are "junk." No such thing in the hobby, with the exception of cards produced since the mid to late 1980's. These were mass produced, and generally
by this time everyone knew to keep their cards pristine in plastic holders so most of those cards are high grade. The problem is that there are myriads of them. And when you have an endless supply you have no
demand. But I will use a quote from Max Keddy, an old trading friend of mine who said "I never met a card I didn't like." So just because a card may have rounded corners, frayed edges, and creases, it does not
make it "junk." I beg to differ. That makes it a "well-loved" card. Personally, I'd rather have a card that wasn't GEM MINT. In fact I love to collect lesser grade cards. I put them on display so I can enjoy them all
the time. Some spend thousands of dollars for a card, put it in a safe or safe deposit a the bank and you don't really get to enjoy it. It's like these guys who pay ridiculous amounts of cash for vintage "muscle
cars," then put them in storage. Cars were meant to be driven. Cards were meant to be collected, traded, flipped, whatever. They were never supposed to be "worth" money or put in plastic slabs or protective
sheets. They were supposed to be enjoyed by kids. Adults just seem to mess everything up.
This is a terrific 1973-74 Topps #100 Jerry West PSA 6 EX-MT (above). I got it on eBay for just $9! You could spend nine bucks at McDonald's and throw up afterwards ("I'm LOVIN' it!"), or you could by
this vintage Jerry West card that you can pass on to your kids. Personally I feel like I've been poisoned every time I have eaten at McDonald's.
